Biography
After completing medical studies at Adelaide University and a further two years of general training, I travelled overseas to further my career in the UK.
My interest in anaesthesia began after a 15 month stint at Plymouth General Hospital. I was to spend a further three years training at Cambridge, England, as a registrar and then as a locum consultant after attaining Fellowship of the Faculty of Anaesthetists, Royal College of Surgeons.
I gained a wide range of experience across many speciality areas of anaesthesia during this very interesting time.
I returned to Adelaide and completed my training in anaesthesia. This included rotations through most of their major metropolitan hospitals. My final year was spent attached to the Day Surgery of the Royal Adelaide Hospital, with a particular research focus on factors influencing patient recovery from anaesthesia.
I have enjoyed working at Specialist Anaesthetic Services since 1992 and seen many changes in the practice of anaesthesia during this time.
